LAW OF THE GARBAGE TRUCK - Let the garbage go by…

How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly she can get back her focus on what's important.

Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson. I learned it in the back of a New York Cit y taxi cab. Here's what happened.

I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when all of a sudden, and I mean without warning, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded and missed the other car's back end by just inches.

Here's what happened next. The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us. How do I know? Ask any New Yorker, some words in New York come with a special face.

Now, here's what blew me away. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, " The Law of the Garbage Truck."

Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it. And if you let them, they'll dump it on you.

When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally. You just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happy you did. I guarantee it.

So this was it: The "Law of the Garbage Truck." I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the streets? It was that day I said, "I'm not going to do it anymore."

Well now "I see Garbage Trucks." I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on.

Good leaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting.

Good parents know that they have to welcome their children home from school with hugs and kisses.

Leaders and parents know that they have to be fully present, and at their best for the people they care about.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let Garbage Trucks take over their day. What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by?

wow it has been awfully long since i have even written something here, due to the "lack of time" which i have been having in the past few months... okay okay... maybe not. Just rather caught up with other things in life.

A few things have changed since i have last written. First of all i have actually scored myself a job about 2.5 months ago. I wouldn't say that it would be the most perfect place to start but i believe that fate has brought me to this one for a reason. The name of the company isn't THAT well known.. for starters. But perhaps if you looked at the 2 company names alone by itself it has been deemed to be rather established. Over the past 2.5 months here i would say that i have had to learn alot of things faster than usual. The pace of work is much faster than you would find in other industries hance there's always a sense of urgency you would feel quite often during the offical "9am to 6pm" and you can really feel the term which we often use "time is money". As this company is rather new, the amount of business that is coming in is much more than the amount of staff avalible can take, hence the turn over rate is very high, everyweek there would be someone leaving. I upsets me quite abit as it makes me think twice on whether i should stay or go, but i believe that staying would definately benefit me more than leaving. It is true that i do feel like we're working mice with huge workload laid upon us everyday but i do believe that it one benefit me in the long run through the experience gained. So i tell myself to suck it up and bear with the so called torture. well in the next few months i am just hoping things will turn better and get use to things around me. i def have improved alot from day 1 and will not stop till i perfect my job. i'm all ready to put in whatever it takes. so wish me luck!

Last month was my birthday month,and somehow it didn't feel as exicting as it was for the past 23 years of my life. Turning 24 was more of a dread, but i was glad that i had the people whom i loved the most around me. It was just a small gathering nothing big as i didn't really want a hugh ass thing like i used to. So dinner was great and clubbing after well i got kinda tipsy that night. Def not drunk but just high with the amount of alcohol being fed for the night. i would say that i was rather proud of the amount i was able to drink considering i am not a heavy drinker most of the time. Even though many know that i haven't been very happy with life in general but i can say that, that night really put a smile on my face with all the company. :) THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY NIGHT SO WONDERFUL!

Well that's about all the major things happening in my life at present moment more to come in the next few months :)

went to catch phantom of the opera today the andrew lloyd webber's version... it was wonderful... words cannot describe how great it was... from the lighting to the sound effects and the music and the singing it was perfecto! definately worth every penny. the actors performed really well, their voices were filled with emotion and i just felt so drawn into the show!! like i'm right there when the whole story actually took place. it was soooo magical i tell you i love it!!! i'd watch it again in comparison to the movie i'd say i prefer the broadway one better. it was a good way to end my wednesday night! :) all smiles ehehe

MOS was quite alright could be better though... music wasn't that great but company was good... sad to say i feel we're getting old... we actually enjoyed the retro room more than the hiphop room what is this man!!! well another reason for me personally is that the hiphop room... had too many youngesters... not that i'm THAT old but yeah more of the 18 to 21 age group and we're practically the oldest ones there.... where have all the ppl my age gone too??!!!! ok retro room not too bad... bunch of older crowd.. somewhat felt more at home then the other room. ppl were really nice smiles all the way and we had a great time!! :) there are other clubs that i would like to venture to next time, for a change of scenery. overall company was great! love you guys! :)

hmm in the midst of looking for employment... well i've been trying to keep myself busy... and yeah this is on of the lastest happenings in my life... went for a human cocktail party and i dressed up as a mojito well my costume didn't last too long.. as you know i stuck mint leaves all over... anyway.. i had a blast!!! it was great ppl were nice and drunk hahaahah.. and the booze was good. so good company and good booze made my night! thanks clare!! you always throw great parties!!!!! eheheh :P

Went for Dee dee's b'day yesterday... but before that as usually me and my driving had some drama mama why? you might ask i got lost! and di was there over the phone panicking and i was on the other end... hur hur getting irritated cause i couldn't find my way.. and half the time we couldn't hear each other as somehow the reception decided to be evil to me and not let di hear me on the other end. anyway.. i got lot in btwn geylang and siglap how nice... hur hur... and on top of that i had a little boo boo with my top... somehow one strap decided to break free from the top humph! what great timing! anyway i manage to get myself there in one piece! hur and the first thing di's dad says " wha, you finally made it!" *smacks da forhead* i felt so embaressed! cause hur hur... he was kinda laughing at me hiyer.. the life of pheli... usual!! then i went in the house and saw the rest of the girls and hur hur... everyone else knew about my little top mishap hiyer... what's new... anyway... we had a great time! especially... the coo coo clock joke... aka coo coo bird! i'll remember that for life...

i'm pretty sure that those of you who are on facebook would have pretty much seen most of the pics... well i can say that this graduation trip was quite alright... considering the number of "unfortunate" events that happened over in perth.. but yeah the trip was good as i got to see all my perth friends whom i love dearly. you guys have made me miss you even more with this trip *muah* anyhow... we did a trip to albany.. and back and got to see lotsa sights the sightseeing was great but the planning was horrible... the so called free and easy... well there were so many things to see and do that there wasn't much room for the free and easy bit. But our tour guide failed to understand that and he still went on his way to be literally free and easy!! so half the time it ended up having us rush to places at the end of the day as we had wasted too much time during the day!...

Graduation ceremony was good... i almost threw up when it came to my turn.. well.. aida was before me and i actually saw her pant out a sigh of relief. i guess she was nevous as well.. well that's just what i'm guessing. well when my turn came, i am happy to say that NO i didn't trip and fall flat on my face and ya i gave the biggest smile every i was so happy!!! that feeling just overwhelmes you i can tell you that for sure... now i finally have that very expensive piece of paper yay!
one thing that i did regret not doing was taking enough pics with the other graduates... besides aida..i didn't exactly take any pics with any other graduates... but oh well.. it's over ... what to do *sulk*

anyway this is my perth update... finally!! BA in ECONOMICS!! YAY!!

ok i haven't written in a while so.... this is a little update...

i'm addicted to this song called "good foot" by justin timberlake.. i don't know why but i just am.. i've listened to it for like almost 50times over and over and over again... darren says "get over it already" but i just can't i'm just hooked it's like some drug lol... just makes me wanna bob to the beat... like a psycho on the bus.

heading to perth this sat... i think mum's actually more excited than i am she actually asked if i've already packed!!! like yesterday... but of course i haven't... me being the last min packer and all... most prob i'd either do some tonight and the rest tomorrow... depending on my laziness...

i had the most eventful day yesterday.... well when i mean eventful i mean... travelling.... went to orchard in the morning then -> back home -> then to vivo -> then to orchard again -> then back home -> then to wala's ( to see the cute thai singer)ahahah his voice was great!!!! so yes worth the trip. i have finally gotten the outfit for my graduation... i'm so excited!!! well to wear the whole thing that is... i have found my perfect shoe... you should see me in my panick mode yesterday morning when i coulnd't find anything which was why i had to meet chin again.. in the evening after her work to serch one more time... and it was like fate has brought me and the shoe together cause when we went to the shoe section in metro there it was.... the pretty thing... as if it was calling out to me... the first thing i saw was that pair! simple, classy and nice. just the look i was looking for. we walked around abit... just incase i managed to find something better but nope there it was... the one that i lurve it's like love at first sight! chin asked me on the way back from wala's whether i had tried on the whole outfit and then it dawned on me that i haven't so yeah when i got home... while chatting online... i tried everything on... and it was perfect.. i look proffesional... well at least i felt i did... the smart casual look i wanted to have ehehe. so i'm super duper happy all thanks to chin *muah*

so yes i'll be leaving in 2 days... it's abit of mix feelings excited, nervous, and abit sian... Sian because of the packing... seriosuly if you ever tried studying overseas you'll know what i mean... the packing seirously KILLS! every sem you have to clear your room... (that's for ppl in college) and ya you have to pack to go home... i tell you i'm a pro at packing my room... just dump everything into the box and i'm done... nice to pack but the unpacking you just wanna die again... cause me being the OH SO PARTICULAR ONE i have to decorate my room in a certain way and i HAVE to put my stuff in a certain way so ya... unpacking is actually longer than packing... lol. i'm excited cause i'll get to see all the ppl in college again!! yay! and my evil plan to chase my dearest buddy down the corridor ahahahaahahah since your fave past time is disturbing me... then i shall give you that pain for one night. i'm sure you won't mind ahahahaha :P i miss the beaches... i can't wait... right now i hear perth is bloody hot...so i hope the sun will wait for me !!! the ever inviting beach with super cold water which i had fun after awhile when vern kept requesting to go into the water... and of course the ever so yummilicious surfer dudes.... *drool........ ya lah closet SPG ok! idiot... the SPGness only comes out in aust... singapore no hot ang mos to oogle what..... hur.. all the sleazebags around... nothing interesting to look at. oh except... that night.... which i when i went for some private party... at em by the river... heaps of ang mos... MODELS!!! skinny tall babes and skinny tall dudes... there were a few cute ones... but i have a feeling that they're either gay or taken! i had a chat with one of the girls she's from the chez republic and she arrived in sing just a few days before this party, she's actually here to model with some company already which i forgot and of course me being so bad a names i can't remember her name cause obviously it wasn't in english, but yeah it was cool, her friends had that stupid air though the "i'm a model, i'm hot and everyone around me is not" look so i didn't bother talking to them. oh that night i met some wakeboarders too, cat's friend who was either the manager of the place or the event can't remember which one... wanted the two tables which were next to each other to socialize so yeah it was our table and this whole table of them (the wakeboarders)... their bods are super fit and hot!!!!! lol... but yeah i guess that's what happens when your doing sports like that... you need loads of muscles so somewhat balance. OOOh OOOH and an italiano tried to pick cat up ahahahaha!!! i had a talk with the italiano's friend whom obviously is also italian... they're from tuscany!!!! they were telling me it actually looks way better than the movie "under tuscan's sun", which is by the way one of my ultimate favourite movies ever! so i gotta make a trip there! and i was telling them i have a friend from italy but a different part of italy! Oh gilda i miss you so! anyhow the men italinos ain't ma type... too ah peh lol... anyway back to the wakeboarders, they're in their 30s and their so fit! omg i'm so gonna take lessons from them onces i get a freaking job... me and chin left the party early cause the music didn't really agree with us. ended up at spices, and saw two guys from the group and ended sitting and chatting with them for quite sometime. them being sorta from another era... it was quite funny how they discribed their teen days... when taka wasn't even built yet and what the dress was like and all so cool!!! they're married and they actually have such cool lives now! how good is that.. it's like a balance btwn "own" time and like family. which is the most ideal ever! i mean they don't cheat on their partners of course but yeah they just hang out and make new friends. network which is great something i admire. got one of their nos so ya useful for patronising their wakeboarding business. Alan is the guy that got my no. he actually is a frequent in perth his family owns an inn near carosel. ahahaaha how cool is that! we talked alot about perth, and his vietnamese friends ahahahaha cuase i kept teasing him here and there so apparently his vietnamese friends are suppose to scare me in perth ya right! alan farny i'm laughing *har har har....!!

ok the more i talk about perth the more i can't wait i miss ma diva partner we need some dancing night together ahahaah... ok ok weds come soon......... i miss my "bf" ralph the sweetest cutie pie ever i hope bob brings him to work if not i can't see him i wanna take him for his walk ahahaahah my parttime bf ehehehe bet he has grown that big baby makes me go all soft with those puppy dog eyes of his awww... !

Happy Lunar New Year.... to all my cheeena friends ehehee... just came back from malaysia went to visit and for the 1st time i've seen my baby nephew and boy he's a real hearbreaker!!!! he's my sweetie pie noone can replace that :P met up with some of my cuzzies... and glad to see that they are all doing well.

Anyway hope you guys had a great time eating all the goodies... like i did.. and now... my sore throat is coming... sheesh....

just a little update on my so called "happening" life which everyone seems to be saying... i don't really think it's that happening as everyone depicts it to be... but anyway... went to support a friend's event at MOS... the event wasn't that happening so we ended up going to Cuba Libra and One night stand. We went back to MOS like 2 other times and it was alot better than the inital program, and we had fun there was the retro room and then after that the main area played hip hop music and the crowd came from dunno where but yeah... it was great... about 3 ppl tried to raba raba with me... i think... and there were some jap ppl staring... but yeah one was cute... but i SHY! yes i am shy! don't believe then dun *humph!* if not i'd whack him long ago hur hur hur! I'm so glad that veena had a great time.. i was abit bumped when MOS was not as happening as i thought it would be.. but i'm glad that me and chin got to show her around clarke quay... It just makes me happy when i share my joys with ppl ya know? so yeah bottom line i'm so glad that that hip hop music and the crowd came it was fantastic! *yippy!*

interviews have been coming but... i've not found what i wanted to do yet.. and it's getting annoying... it's like i'm repeating over and over again my life story what i wanna do... what i see myself in the next few years.... i wish i could just tape my voice and then rewind play, rewind play.. then i can save my breadth... but then again.. it's all in the name of practice... hur hur hur... i want my job to come soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need a purpose in life!!!!!

chinese new year is coming and i can tell you 100percent that i'm not looking forward to it... i see no meaning... and that includes valentine's day... i hate 14th of feb!!!!!! i always treat it as a day for marketers to make the most amount of money... i'm still wondering what do i see that has a point in life anymore... it's like bores and snores... seriously... and i have to travel up to malaysia again! for the thousand and one time seriously... aircraft ok... fly to aussi ok but not malaysia.. i just don't like going there don't ask me why.. it's a chore! and plus i have to freaking behave myself. it's so damn annoying. i'm seriously aching all over today! went for yoga and i used all the muscles that i never knew existed!!! my god... i currently feel like an old woman... once again... not only that the teacher is pretty strict so yeah hence not wanted to get scolding... i put in as much effort as i could! during the class i was sweating like a mad pig... literally dipping with sweat! whoever said that yoga is a piece of cake i'll kick you! after the lesson i was so tired that i just wanna lie in bed.. even lying in bed was painful! sheesh! how to survive tomorrow!!! die die die!

tomorrow i foresee a busy busy busy day... yoga class at pure yoga and then at night it's the MOS event. :P party party party till your ass falls off!!!

hmm monday was good... whoever said that monday had to be always blue? lets just say that things went kinda smoothly and it made me feel great!:)

well just came back from newton and this hk cafe place... which i forgot the name again. i just realised that they actually have an outlet near my place which is great.. about it lasting for long... not too sure about it.. considering the countless times i've driven back home and the area is pretty much dead.. took a look at the place as i drove by and yeah there was only about one or two tables filled.. the rest of the shop was empty... you could say that it's most probably the the begining of the week hence not many people around.. but who knows...

i better treasure my freedom before the schedule in my life changes...

i think i'm somewhat a nocturnal person... i kinda prefer to go out at night then in the day... maybe it's under the influence of being in aust... where it's not as crowded as here.. so when there are less people active like at night... it make me feel happier to go out :P weird i know but oh well.

mum's b'day is coming up... i hope it'll be a great one... it's like another year older... again... time passes too quickly

was telling chin.. i think i like staying up because there are too little hours in a day... well besides there are less people around.

i use to think that sleeping is a waste of time... i still think it is...

i'll always remember what "a" said... " sleep all you want when your dead!"

well lets just say that this has been the most happening week i've had... it's like somebody being under house arrest and suddenly being set free. went out again last night with the perth gang tons of fun and laughter as usual. And yes ended up at St james powerhouse... danced till my feet ached.. i've been out on heels since 3pm so what did ya expect...

This has been the fastest CNY shopping i've ever had in a long while bought 2 tops from future state and that pretty much settles everything. Honestly i HATE CNY i don't know why but i just do... i find it rather meaningless.. in fact i find alot of things meangless now adays.... the only thing i'm looking forward to is my ang pow money! ahaha...you don't know how broke i feel at present moment.

So anyway.. i can say that among the many rooms there are in powerhouse. i've only been to 3. the boiler room is the R&B room, the DJ not as good as Double O i should say.. i guess it's cause some of the music i don't really like and plus my feet were aching so badly.. i felt i needed clutches. They have a live band there, i can say that the singers can really sing although i thought that the volume was abit too loud, but oh well... I didn't think the crowd was too happy with them performing though i kinda thought that they wanted to dance to music spun by the DJ rather than listen to these chics sing and strut their stuff on stage.. but whatever works i guess..

I'm really glad that j enjoyed herself, especially to the arab music.. the past few times i've been there i've always thought that she would definately like it at movida.. and i guess i was right :)

After St James.. i met up with my dearest friend along with 2 of her other guy friends at newton and we had supper. well it's more of me eating and them watching since they've kinda eaten already. but yeah... both guys studies in Aust and it was really nice that i got to talk about my experiences again with people who actually have a clue of what i'm talking about. I've been actually missing perth quite abit so i guess i was really happy that i got to talk about it well at least it was the common topic for that night :D

this coming week... i might just hibernate... take a break from all the so called "happening" activities... ahah!

this is the first time i've ever club hopped in sing and it was 7 clubs in a row lets recap the clubs we visited

1. The Clinic
2. Gotham
3. One Night Stand
4. Attica
5. Butterfactory
6. Double O
7. MOS

Since it was ladies night... we just took advantage of the situation and walked around clarke quay. Gotham had some pretty exciting lineup.. where they had male strippers *yummy* reminded me of the time where i went to this strip club in perth! except over here they weren't allow to remove everything.... but that's alright.. the abs of this guy on stage was good enough to eat! ahahahaaha...*drool* One Night Stand had a great band playing and there were quite a few ang mos dancing reminded me of mustang bar... in fact the setting of the place was somewhat like mustang bar except it was smaller in size. Double O had free drinks all the way and of course we drank quite abit... well more for chin.. cause i had to drive home later... so just to be safe i limited myself to what i was having... hey responsible driver here!

It was good that we took a cab down from chin's place as it was so much easier not worrying about walking back to where we parked the car... although the cab fare cost quite abit :P you can kinda say that i enjoyed myself last night... 1st time in a super duper long while that i've even been out this late! and yeah mixing around with the "younger" ones... and yes there was the usual raba raba and the pick ups... but neh! not this round...

suprisingly last night it was not crowded everywhere.. i guess most people went to zouk or powerhouse. But i'm quite glad it was that way gave me some space to dance and have a good look at the places we visited, some i've been to some i haven't. :)

i'm go glad i got to do this with someone i've known for the longest time ever!

yesterday was the one of the best chill out days i've had... just me and chin.. 2 of our cars side by side windows down and just talking... how often would we ever get a chance to do this i don't know. Stayed at the carpark opposite cine for about almost 2 hours.. just loved it.... when you've got good company... it feels good to chat anywhere!

it's been almost of week of doing nothing... getting restless and annoyed... hur hur...

today.... the pain just reached an all time high... i can tell you that for sure! just imagine.. feeling the pain all the way from the back of your throat to your gums... yes.. i can feel it in my gums which makes my molars really painful as well.. swallowing had been a torture... if i had the choice i would spit at every opportunity possible. ehehe... i think it's football season right now... and i was browsing through cable and ended up in the sports channels and i saw the spanish preimera! it really reminded me of the nights in college where we stayed up the whole night watching and cheering for the various countries.. but for me specifically brazil! i know typical... but i guess they have earned the repect with their good sportsmanship. i have been thinking alot... and i realised that i miss perth sooooo much... it's true when they say that when you're there you miss home but when you're home you miss perth.

i miss the weather
i miss the beaches
i miss the people
not forgetting the endless no. of hot guys
i miss my courage to do almost anything
i miss the so called " freedom"
i miss the smiles.. ( over here... if they do that it's either they want something from you or they think your mad)

Life can be tough over there as your mostly by yourself and alot of decision you've gotta kinda take a chance and make it on your own. But i feel i've grown alot over there. Yes there are many rough patches here and there, but if you look at it as a whole it wasn't as bad as i thought it was at that moment in time.

I miss you perth!!! i wanna go back there again.....
I realised that i'm so lucky to be in that uni with the old buildings and yes although i complain that it seems like a bird park i'm actually quite glad that it was. You'll never find peacocks wandering around your uni over here, neither would you find colourful parrots and not forgetting the ducks... i use to chase around... when i'm feeling abit mischievous .... Makes me sad just thinking of it. :S

Finally after 23 years of my life... my tonsils are out! something that's been giving me so much pain for so long. the amount of times i get sick in a year... countless.... so hope it's all good.... right now.. i'm in so much pain... i can't talk neither can i eat much... even swallowing my own saliva argh!!! but no pain no gain...

This is my first op... ever in my life... the nurses around kept laughing at me... well i think cause of the nevous look on my face... they kept trying to calm me down... lol... the op came and went so quickly... i constantly thought of you to keep my mind off the fear and anxiety. :)

When i woke up i was pushed into this room where other patients just came out from an op as well. This lady didn't even know her operation was over... she actually asked the nurse.. " when is the doctor coming to do my operation" and the nurse then told her that it was all over and done. There was this guy which i labelled Mr Whiney the moment he woke up he kept calling for the nurse non stop saying that he wants to go back to his room and he wants to use the bathroom... the funny thing is that i could hear what he wanted from the other end of the room but the nurses... kinda didn't understand the " i want to use the bathroom bit" and he kept complaining that he feels sleepy... complain complain complain shessh.. how can someone feel sleepy and want to use the bathroom at the same time.. if i was in his shoes... i would be wide awake cause i needed to go so urgently... which at that moment in time i was... so ya! i had to wait for quite sometime before i was pushed out of that recovery ward... the nurses were a great help i felt very pampered... except for the fact that they came every 3 hours to check my blood pressure... which i hated...

couldn't sleep the whole of last night... was in pain and was running a fever.... recieved a few msges from you and it just put a smile on my face.

mummy was so sweet she bought me a basket of flowers.. roses and lilles!! red and yellow both of my fave colours!

next week.. i've got the doc's checkup... so i gotta hibernate for a week... was told not to go to crowded places... hope the pain will be over soon...

hmmm lets seee... being the lazy bum that i am... i haven't really been bothered to update much... but what i can say is that... alot has been happening since i've gotten back from perth... unpacked my room... now that one didn't take long... update my resume that one took like forever!

I was suppose to do my usual hibernation for 1 week routine but... unfortunately... i haven't been able to do so... but meeting all my friends are still pretty fun. there are still so much to do i've got a list in my head... if i can remember but the one thing i really wanna go is GET TRASHED! well that's what i told hayley but i haven't managed it yet since half the time i've been driving. but next mambo night i would like to get trashed or at least more drinks that i would have. so driving would be out of the picture for now...

went to raha's b'day last week, it was a nice a small gathering. i enjoyed the company it was great! and last night's salsa gathering was fun! 1st time at st james power house and yeah nice place i should say and the company at supper was good, although i'm super duper tired and almost about to drop on the table literally... i don't think i've fully adjusted to my so called singapore sleeping pattern yet. by like 10pm or 12 i'm like almost out... i actually fell asleep watching "over the hedge" for goodness sake! on the beanbag now that's not normal! and it was only 10! so sickening. anyway i hope to get the pic from last nights outting soon so i can post them out so porshee! i'm counting on you buddy!

Went to the Llama bar on wednesday for gills farewell. it was great! vern was so nice to accompany me to the event. Some guys chatted us up which was quite alright i guess... been quite sometime since that happened. Gill's friend i can't remember his name... but anyhow... he's a really interesting fellow doing geo-physics or something like that and he was telling us about what he does and learns. He talked quite abit, but half the time i don't really know what he was talking about as the live band was playing rather loudly..... Good music though.. just the way i like it. Soul and Jazz. Vern and i were having a debate as to what race he was, he looked more of a pakistani, indian and malay. he sang really well.. hence i enjoyed my time.

For those people who are wondering what i have been up to, i've been trying to keep myself busy... with stuff to keep my mind off my results. trying to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather before i have to return the humid weather which i kinda hate. Been doing losta shopping too... i can say i've become somewhat of a dvd addict... i've bought qutie a few considering the sale that is going on i just can't resist!

Will be heading over to sydney on monday don't really have the excited feeling about it something which i don't really understand. i just hope i get to surf... if not... that's alright at least i got to go for a short trip and maybe do some shopping.

Exams are offically over and i've been really busy ever since... well i'm making myself busy at least... Went to danella's party yesterday at it was great! we all had a great time... it felt like college again... food was good music was great! we partied all the way! today was the offical last day of uni and it's the first time i've gone to the courtyard for the end year party. it was interesting to see lotsa drunk people and the music well not really to my liking but the beat was alright. i saw jamie from big bro 2 days in a row.. gosh i hope he doesn't think i'm "stalking" him.. yeah right... i gave up watching big brother after first month into the show.. things got just too ridiculous.. anyways... he sat the grass patch right behind us... and of course some girls came sucking up to him and some came for pics... as usual. well not that we're super huge fans of him but the pic was just for cheap thrill. so aida did the asking and i did the taking... muahahaha although.. jamie's friend was super cute.. it was sad that we didn't get a pic of him. aida i'm so proud of you!!! muahaha..for those of you who don't know who he is he's the winner of big brother.. jamie!!! and how nice is he to pose for her ahahahahaahaha. no regrets aida no regrets!!!

I need to rant...

i just don't understand why do i care and even bother about those people who have made my life miserable.. in fact why am i even letting them make my life miserable. what is the point?

i guess i just fall too easily in the trap that is called friendship and maybe am too trusting for my liking.. i'm not saying that i'm all that innocent and so angelic that i'm always right. of course i do things that are wrong once in a while but i learn from it and make an effort to change.

but some people are just backstabbers i just don't get how the whole world works.. i've just seen an encountered too many one after the other.. especially in the working world.. but you know what that's how most humans succeed. does that mean i have to be one of those too? constantly acting nice in front of others while hating them like hell inside? what's the point of being so nice to someone if you don't like them, or you just have to say something bad about that person for no outright reason.. seriously? oh wait! of course i know the answer.. so you can make use and manipulate them you your liking! ah see i get the idea...
i'm not dumb... i know almost every possible reason and action there is in the book for people who carry such charateristics. It's like reading a story book over and over and over again and again. It's actually getting rather boring.. but such human beings just tend to pop out every where it's like some secret factory manufacturing these robots that act and think the same.. i should just find that mad scientist and kill him to end such population once and for all. No wonder writers came up with the story of "MEAN GIRLS" it really depicts most aspects of life that people face on a daily basis and all those reality shows which have become a little over produced... Most humans think that they would mature with age.. of course they do to a certain extent like your skin starts to wrinkle and you can't fit into those kids and teens department, but this huge characteristic plays a big part in the word childish... i guess it's also associated with the word insecure.

i sometimes feel that humans are the most disgusting creatures on earth... i think we can beat all those man eating animals to it hands down

why must the world work like this? i just don't get it.

a few more weeks and it's time to face tons of people like that out there.. i'm SO! not looking forward to it.

me and aida have valedicted!!! yay!!! we did it!!! it's been a really tough 2.5 years for both but anyhow slow and steady... we still did it! thanks to all those that had faith and encouraged us all the way... and for those ppl who have looked down on us we should actually thank you because it made us push ourselves further to prove you wrong!

well on top of that we've got awards both of us recieved the tutor award for outstanding contribution to college life... we were one of the 4 ppl that got it yay!

The weather is getting warmer each week... although there are still days where it just rains and rains which i hate!

Yesterday we had really good weather so me and nisa decided to head to the beach... and thinking that we would actually beat the crowd... i was SO wrong! we had to wait for like 4 buses before we managed to hop onto one. But it was all worth it the Sun the Sand and of course not forgetting the surfers! we had a great time! though... one was baked and the other was burnt...

Oh and inter college arts night was great... i was really surprised at the number of singaporeans that could sing.. for the 1st time currie actually got something... that's really good. This years participants were so much better than last years and the judging was more fair i should say.. at least they broke down the catagories this time round.. which was better as it gave everyone at least a chance to win!

yesterday i officially turned 23... omg... i feel so old...
Went to araluen in the day to see all the flowers that bloomed.. it was really pretty.Had a pretty good time..

Went back home to rest for awhile and didn't have much mood to do anything. Then it was dinner time!!! I wore the sexiest outfit i've ever worn in my life... well seems like it to me at least... felt really good. Went to El Torro for dinner small little family restaurant in northbridge and then had my ice cream cake. Food was yummy!!! i'm so glad that everyone enjoyed it! Smart me went to buy relightable candles hence i had a hell of a time blowing them out! but it was fun... even though i was super outta breath anyway... here are some pics... more later when i've got time to upload them... thanks to all those people that came.. really appreciate it.. was very touched and you made my night :)

the ball as a blast! well at least i thought so. we took a tram up to kings park where the restaurant was situated. i really enjoyed myself and i got my hair done up quite nicely for once :) food was alright... i didn't really like the main course... it was either a choice between chicken breast or beef and since i can't eat beef, i have to settle for the chicken breast which i hate... so i ended up eating some salad... breaking the meat fast ended offically today... and i do feel abit werid having it in my mouth again... i'm just too used to the taste of veges.. which are not bad by the way :) anyway back to the ball.... the organising committee did a very good job. dancing was the best part of course.. overall.. i'm really glad that i managed to go for this ball.. more pics posted at flickr!

So it's just a few days till uni starts and somehow i can definately tell you that i'm rather excited.. don't ask me why but i just am... maybe because it's the final semester.. maybe it's because i get to see all those that i've missed. but yes i definately am looking forward to it. all geared up and ready to go just like a fighting bull.

This year i'm gonna really make it my year. it started out pretty well with summer school, and boy do i miss those bunch of peeps.. my MR group rocks! don't know what i'll do without them.. then when semester started my international marketing tut was something i'd say i was looking forward to every week... besides the countless times i've embaressed myself it's been pretty good.

This sem i know it's gonna be really tough... i can feel it. especially my banking units.. thinking of it just makes me wanna hurl.. but ms kiasu here has already bought her course reader so there might be some indication that the hands would pick it up and the brain would try and have look through the information? we'll see...

tonight i'm on duty.. so i'm just wondering whether i'd get much sleep considering many students would be returning to college.. but it's all good i've got my trusty book to read i know i'm slow! i've got 790 somthing more pages to go.. how pathetic is that... after like so long! hence i'm gonna try and make it through at least 1/4 tonight, better do it now if not i'll never be able to pick that book up again during the semester.

anyway i gotta go.. veg .. better do it now before i'll never have a chance to..

I actually bought the book that i have been wanting to read can you believe it? it's an 800 page book which i hope to eventually finish... and i bought beads! for making earrings yes.. i have finally decided to learn now to bend the metal piece properly. fatimah's gonna teach me just that! so most of the stuff are currently with her so that i don't have to keep bringing stuff over to her place. we plan to have another sleepover but as i said.. it'll all depend on how the 11th goes *cross my fingers* i so hope it goes alright... the 1st 2 papers really really sucked! broke down a couple of times... but now it's just more of the worrying... soon i think all my hair will slowly fall out considering the amount of time i spend worrying...

I miss my room in st cats... never knew how attach i am to that place... i guess cause it's kinda my 2nd home.. oh and yes.. i missed home yesterday... well i missed all my friends... was talking to T and i just realised all the people back home how long i haven't seen them man... i actually plan to get back at the end of this year so i can say that i've lived in perth for a year! oh well we'll see how it goes..

the dreaded day is coming and i'm so not looking forward to it... been eating alot from all the darn stress.. which means i'll have to exercise harder every single time i do so.. haven't climbed jacobs ladder in awhile.. i might do that sometime this coming week.. to train my leg muscles apart from the jogging

At this moment in time. you are feeling really really miserable.. i can tell from your blog. and somehow i have this feeling it's about HIM again!!!... Seriously! I do agree that women need affection from the opposite sex but don't make it seem like your gonna die without that person. Upcoming event! cultural week!

Me and Di have been put in charge of decorations! and with alot of help from the decorations committee.. i'm pretty sure it'll go well *fingers crossed* 1st time i've actually been given something this big to do in college.. it's quite amazing.. and on top of that i'm actually organising an outting for the SCR yay! can't wait and i'm also performing for cultural night.. how busy is that... plus 2 assignments due next week.. never had so much on my plate before but i'll get by it i hope!

Watching a play on a friday night was great.. had the best 3 hours i could get. worth my money very good very good.. anyway the play was by the drama society at uni and it's called teenage mutant ninja tertles. super creative i should say... here's a short clip of what was in it.

i found that the productions here and back home are rather different. here you will find that they are more relaxed and back home it's abit too serious... that you find actors getting abit stiff at times. really worth my 9 bucks ehehe... should have gone to the one last year if i knew it was gonna be this great... bleah.. anyway back to idiotic assignment...

going to a male strip club was something i wanted to do before i leave this place for good and i was really glad that i went. NO it's NOT because of the naked men that i enjoyed myself.. i was rather impressed with the way the handled the crowd.. rather tasteful i should say... the way they made everyone participate in the audience it was good... ahahah i got to rub a guy's butt.. with oil ahahahah.. and there were a few cute ones with hot bods. The entrance looked abit dodgy so 2 of my friends had 2nd thoughts but i was like no way am i walking this far not to go in. So i just took the lead and went up. glad i did it. brave choice i should say. Something i would do only once and it's kinda enough. unless one of my other friend wants to go again to celebrate her graduation, that's all cool with me.

study break... sickening torture break more likely.. not the very best in health at the moment and work is slowly getting done but not really fast enough. and NO i'm NOT putting too much pressure on myself. but ya... trying to do what i have to do.
anyway... i gotta go... hope everyone's doing fine..

hmm haven't really written anything in awhile... well cause i'm lazy! anyway... just a little update on what's going on here... went for the rive cruise on the 9th of april got alittle more action then intended.. but oh well... thought last years river cruise was better though... before that in the morning me and mas went up to kings park... we took jacob's ladder... and we had a little mishap... oops... mas had alittle dizzy spell going on after climbing up those stairs.. most prob due to a lack of sugar anyway the view was wonderful... stayed there for like about 4 hrs chatting it was great! one week break is gonna be hell lots to do... anyway here are the pics... laterz!

lets see..... where shall i start! was 1st of April was April fools day, not only that it was Deska's and Sarah J's b'day !! yay! we went to Cicerello's for lunch good ole yummy food.. but fat fat fat!! anywayz after which i went with some of the gals to the freemantle market to see whether we could get some supplies for PROSH! didn't manage to find anything so headed back to college and awaited for the time of the cutting cake ceremony eheheheh. cleared the air up with 2 people in one night takes alot of energy. i might seem reserved with some people and i might not with others but that doesn't mean that i hate the people just that i'm trying to strike a balance with my social skills for the newer and older people i know. so please understand that.

well everything i should say would be almost back to normal the little steps that i try to take to increase the friendship circle. so far it has been good.

i am starting to get too much on my plate and i know that very well. but i hope i can catch up on the work i need to do. that's the challege for me this year... hope it becomes a success.

today we all went to have dinner with raha well kinda like a farewell kinda thing cause she's going back to sing for good.. went to old shanghai for dinner.. good ole asian food. :)

Empires of Dance is the SCR's 1st event of the year. It is also the 1st time i've ever been to a belly dancing performance. It was great! Although the show was a little bit long i did kinda enjoy myself. Just imagine sitting under the stars sipping chardonnay... watching the beautiful performers shake their stuff.. Although i'm not really a belly dancing fan.. when you listen to the music being played you would just wanna get up and dance along.. This is something that if you were to do in Singapore you wouldn't really enjoy it cause it'll be too humid... ok i tried uploading the pics but unfortunately the system is not really co-operating with me so i guess i'll just have to do it tomorrow or something... laterz!

ok when i said that i wanted to go all out this year... i didn't expect that swimming would be one of the events i would actually take part in... well it was a last min thing cause quite a few people dropped out... but oh well... yeah i haven't trained since i was like 14 man you can you imagine!!!! i nearly died... the try outs were like the night before and then that was it... anyway... i think quite a few people were surprised that i could actually swim that fast... guess cause i never really said anything about it... lol as chin fee says "the product of uncle vincent's work". uncle vincent was my swimming coach by the way in case you were wondering... well i wouldn't say i was fast... but i was a little satisfied that i got to swim in the end i think... i miss this sport alot... even though i didn't make it to the top 3 but it didn't matter.. i got all the support from all the cats girls which made me feel like the effort that i put in was worth it! thanks all you girls!!! here are some pics.. enjoy..

two birthdays in a row... attended eelynn's b'day on thursday and then aida's on friday. i've yet to get more pics from eelynn so i'll put those up in time to come.. on thursday.. we went to murdoch area.. had a bbq that's cool been sometime since i've had that.. and on friday.. we had a pool party plus clubbing after that! went to mustang bar.. our fav hang out! we had a blast! vern got picked up by this ang mo fellar not bad looking i should say... but too bad! she wasn't super interested boo!!! anyway music was great and the band was good. yay! week 1 of uni is up and gone.. don't know whether it's a good thing or not. today i had my international finance and monetary economics. Sitting in the lect has made me realised how much i missed all the financial terms and things about the economy.. i just hope i'll be safe to say that it's my calling...

how boring is my life, i'm home on a friday night. Back in sing i'd be out in town sitting at starbucks gossiping or bitching or i dont' know just catching up and spending time with friends. oh how i miss them...

I managed to change my tut to nun and adrienne's tut. how cool is that! thought i'd never get it. 3 of us are united again ahahahaha!!! minus 2 *sob* tracy!!! wendy!!! ok tuts are out... and i've got a FREAKING TUT ON THURSDAY!! only one and guess what time it is? it's 5 to 6pm!! away from nun and adrienne... but i'm gonna try and see whether i could get a change on that one to sit together with them and stuff... if it's impossible that's fine as well.

Today was our first meeting for the SCR and we did elections. I ran for social sec although i had other oppositions i got the part. so yeah.. it's my first important role in college something i would like to do well in. small role but yeah i'll do it. anyway as i said this year it's time to be discipline no more playing around... i think i might go out of my room to study or something if i can't concentrate... wanna juggle stuff right. ok so 1st week of uni is offically here.. haven't had any lectures yet though. I've got monday's and thursdays off so that's so far rather cool.

O'week was quite alright i should say that i've met quite a few new people. Some seems pretty nice and others... well.. maybe they're just shy or something.

Not sure whether i've done my goals for this year i have a feeling i've already did. but yeah the list of things i actually want to achieve this year. Don't know whether it's too unrealistic but there's no harm trying ya?

1. Be more Organised
2. Less Procrastination
3. Look for a Job
4. Take up a more important role in college
5. Network more, know at least one new person per unit
6. Learn to work smarter

Everyone's back in college.. It's nice to see more people in college, missed quite a few people over the summer. Especially those that were there for me throughout my hard times last semester.

Justin came back on sunday and sis passed him my grey's omg i spent the whole evening watching it... well i haven't started any lessons so i'm forgiven.. eheh.. and i got my hollywood tape and a small pencil case... thanks.. i was surprised about the pencil case though.. i'm gonna have to look for something to put it in.. i've got 4 pencil cases over here already.. hur hur... too many fetish but my no. 1 fetish is still watches.. i'm aiming for a tag heuer. soon soon.. with my 1st pay hopefully.. well 1st offical working life pay.

Australia Day was great! A whole 30mins of fireworks! it was also the 1st time that i've seen so many boats at the bay... lots and lotsa ppl around, oh and we saw dolphines too!!! ehehe... There were many drunk aussies around... of course... what's new...
